The Fundraising and Development Committee are currently working to a mid-range development plan which will put Carrickfergus Cricket Club at the very vanguard of cricket development in Ireland. Our priority is and always has been the promotion and development of cricket, particularly at youth level. Reflecting this is our ambition of establishing Carrickfergus Cricket Club as a 'centre of excellence' for cricket in Northern Ireland.
The Management Committee has now approved the first stage of this further development in the form of a a £100,000 clubhouse extension, with work scheduled to begin as early as September 2004.
Plans have been prepared and submitted and the work will comprise an extension to the upstairs lounge, with an enhanced viewing gallery, larger kitchen and designated dining area.
On the ground floor, the changing facilities and groundsman's store will be significantly enlarged.
The decision to invest in the social aspect of the Club is a further demonstration of the Management Committee's commitment to our social membership and acknowledges the inextricable link between the sport and social aspects of our Club.
