Iain Parkhill was been elected as 1st XI captain of Carrickfergus Cricket Club for the 2013 season at its Annual General Meeting held last Thursday. He takes over from Ross Gelderbloem following the Club's relegation from the NCU's Ulster Bank Premier League after 9 seasons at the top level, and is confident that his side can make a good showing in Section 1 next season. Club stalwart Roger Bell has been elected to serve as the Club's new President, taking over from Leslie Thompson who stood down after 13 years sterling service at the helm. Jim Nelson becomes the new Senior Vice President, Gary Thompson was elected as Hon Treasurer, while Alastair Burton was re-elected as Hon Secretary. The Assistant Hon Secretary is John Stewart and Ivan Walker will be Assistant Hon Treasurer. Long serving members Wallace Luney, David McKillen, Alex Adams and Michael Ross were re-elected. Michael McIlroy who will chair the Cricket Committee, Ally McCalmont and Anthony Martin will be new faces on the Management Committee this year.
