Good start for Carrick’s Youth Teams
Carrick’s Under 13 and Under 15 XI’s have both started the season well, with both winning their opening league matches, and the U13’s also making progress in the Banoge Cup.
The Under 15’s had a 45 run win at Cregagh. Batting first, they scored a formidable 161 for 5 in their 20 overs. Max Burton led the way, smashing a rapid 52 which included nine boundaries, and sharing in an opening partnership of 60 with Tom Stewart. An excellent 53 run partnership between AJ Hussell and Ethan Thompson followed which enabled them to reach their impressive total. A fifty from Fleetham led the reply for Cregagh but Carrick’s total was always going to be too much for them, and they finished on 116 for 4 at the end of their 20 overs.
